Zoiper Communicatior RC1 Released

If you have ever looked around for a good softphone, you might have run across Zoiper (formerly known as IDEFISK). Zoiper has always been a great softphone with its support for both IAX and SIP extensions and very small resource usage. I personally have been using Zoiper as my primary softphone client for around four years.

This week, the first public release of the new, more advanced, Zoiper Communicator is being made available. I have been following the progress of Zoiper Communicator since I first saw it at Astricon seven months ago.  During this time, the Zoiper Communicator has developed into a very complete business communications package.

Beyond simply being a softphone, Zoiper Communicator is also a chat system, video phone, video instant messenger, presence manager, and …. are you ready for this? A Fax machine! How can a softphone being a Fax machine? Well, its a T.38 endpoint so it can send and receive faxes, there is even a print driver available to send faxes through the softphone from any application.
