One of the biggest difference between trixbox Pro and other business phone systems is the granular control of group and user permissions that is available. Using the Groups module, you can grant access to specific system features and control to specific people and/or groups of people. Although this is one of the most powerful features of trixbox Pro, it is often one of the least understood or used features. Configuring a ClearOne MaxIP SIP Conference phone with trixbox CE is actually pretty simple and is just as easy as setting and basic SIP phone. Since trixbox CE uses FreePBX for its configuration tool, these same directions work with any FreePBX-based distribution such as Elastix and AsteriskNow.

Once you setup the extension as a generic SIP device you just need the extension number, secret, and IP address to put into the right fields in the MaxIP Web Portal to get the phone up and running. In this video, Kerry Garrison walks you through the entire process.
