Sneak Peak at the new Cisco SPA500 Series Phones

One of the best selling lines of IP phones has been the Linksys SPA9xx series. While the Linksys 9xx series has been a great performer, Cisco decided it is time for a refresh. The new phones include:
- Cisco SPA501G Eight Line Phone
- Cisco SPA502G Single Line Phone
- Cisco SPA504G Four Line Phone
- Cisco SPA508G Eight Line Phone
- Cisco SPA509G Twelve Line Phone
- Cisco SPA525G Five line phone w/Color LCD, Wifi, and Bluetooth
The new line is coming out under the Cisco Small Business Pro label instead of the Linksys label and they feature a wide array of improvements including:
- The same handset design as the high-end Cisco 79xx series phones
- Improved sound chamber and design giving the speakerphone much improved quality
- Improved keys and directional pad
- Improved overall fit and finish
- All SPA5xx phones support G.722 Wideband codec
- The display phones will all support Cisco XML Services*
- All Cisco branding
* Phones will support XML services in SPCP mode on initial release and in SIP mode in late summer. The 525G already supports XML services in SIP mode.
Look for the SPA5xx series phones to be huge sellers over the next year as they are simple to configure, work well, and have an attractive price point. Until August, these phones are only available in limited quantities. The following video explains some of the new key benefits of this product refresh.
