SIP Clients for Smartphones
Smartphones such as the iPhone, Android phones, Blackberrys and others are now powerful enough to run applications that can handle voice calls. While it certainly didn’t look like the carriers where going to even allow SIP clients on their networks, this doesn’t seem to have slowed down the development of the applications.
Since I don’t have access to every phone I am not going to try to review all of the available options that are available but if you have tried one, please add to the comments with your own review.
iPhone
siphon – http://code.google.com/p/siphon/
This is actually an open-source project which ensures that it will always be free to use.
SipPhone on iPhone – http://www.vnet-corp.com/iphone.htm
This looks to be a very well designed SIP client for the iPhone and has been tested with a number of systems.
fring for iPhone – http://www.fring.com/download/iphone/
I have heard very mixed results with fring so I suggest trying it and seeing if it works well for you.
Skype for iPhone – http://skype.com/go/getskype-iphone
While not a SIP client, it does bear mentioning that you can use Skype on an iPhone now
Android
sipdroid – http://sipdroid.org/
This looks to be a really nice SIP client for Android phones such as the t-Mobile G1.
Blackberry
Alas, we have yet to find an actual working SIP client for Blackberry phones yet. If you know of one, please let us know.

You can add Articulation for PalmOS based phones. I use with my Centro with 3CX.
