Juniper Networks shrinks IP Communication
Juniper Networks Inc, announced today they are introducing a slew of new apps and services for its customers. Notably these services deliver voice, video and other multimedia in a way that requires less bandwidth.
Juniper’s applications can combine multiple voice calls into a single IP packet, rather than each call having its own packet. This effectively eliminates the additional headers, and other packet transmission information that would be required with the former method, allowing for much sleeker IP communication. Let it also be known that Juniper does not deem this VoIP but rather “circuit emulation”. Their circuit emulation is a new approach on IP Communication, it should offer an interesting alternative to current standards.
There are also plans in the future to release a gateway solution for legacy analog systems to use Juniper’s new IP communication technology. The technology will use Junipers circuit emulation with a mix of current standards based Session Border Controllers.
