Around here the Android devices have been taking over but there is still a huge market of iPhone users out there who want to use their devices to connect to their IP business phone system’s like 3CX just like we can do. Creating Ring Groups in trixbox Pro

Often you want to create a ring group within trixbox Pro and while there is no actual ring group function there are some ways we can get around this. The first is to use the single Blast Group with modified caller ID, which works fine for smaller organizations. The second method is to use a virtual extension with the FindMe feature to create a ring group, this works quite well but does use an extension license. Implementing QoS on a Windows 2008 Server

Implementing QoS on your network can help to avoid issues when mixing voice and data packets but most people have no idea how to set up QoS on a server. The guys over at 3CX have just written up a nice tutorial on how to setup QoS on Windows 2008. This will work really well for Windows Server 2008 systems that are running 3CX as it will tag the packets for QoS. Then, so long as your switches and routers are QoS aware, they will honor the tagged packets and give them priority on the network. trixbox Pro has a very nice management section for extensions and devices and while the two are related, phones are managed separately from extensions. In this video we show you how to manage devices manually and then go through all the different options available in the extensions manager. This should give you a good understanding of how the two components work together and how to manage both of them.
