Agito for BlackBerry, brings VoIP over WiFi on an enterprise scale

agito Agito for BlackBerry, brings VoIP over WiFi on an enterprise scaleAgito, a company that deals in enterprise mobility solutions recently announced a new product, the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router. This product has promised to deliver VoIP over WiFi and Unified Communications to the users of RIM (Research In Motion) BlackBerry smartphones.

The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router, is a powerful tool that is aimed to increase enterprise staff productivity while also reducing costs. Previously BlackBerry users could only access Unified Communication and PBX functionality over the costly cellular network. There was also a nagging problem of coverage holes due to poor in-building cellular coverage, which may for some of us cost us an important sale call, or limit our ability to provide proper technical coverage to our customers. With the addition of WiFi syncing, we can double up on coverage wherever we go. The software also has cellular to WiFI hand off, so hopefully we will have a nice feature to simply switch networks on the fly, or automatically switch to WiFi when available.  The major benefit though would be the ability to sync your data and make your calls over WiFi so you can really experience some cost savings. For large enterprises with a few hundred BlackBerry users, I can this this being a very appealing product.

The RoamAnywhere Mobilty Router maintains your common UC features such as hold, conferencing, transfer, directory query, and call retrieve, again all while being over the WiFi network. Agito Networks also provides other cost saving features like international direct dialing, roaming, least-cost routing, reverse dialing, automatic SIM swap and dynamic calling rules.
